The success of parenting and early childhood education no longer rests on giving of instructions. Instead, it requires a loving heart and the willingness to “let go” and "teach", to give children the freedom to "learn" to develop.
On behalf of the Distinctive Learning Society, I thank Ms Lee Wai Lan for her dedication. I look forward to more opportunities to work hand in hand with Ms Lee in providing activities on parenting, childhood education for parents, so that more families will be benefited.

By applying a parent-orientated approach, Ms Lee facilitates a two way interactive communication with them. This helps to inspire parents to adopt a new mindset in teaching their children. This is an interesting approach and prompts me to reflect.

I really learn a lot through the program. Through the program, I learn more about "Acceptance" and "Affection". It is easy to understand but difficult to act them out. I engaged Lee to be my coach with an objective to improve my parenting skills
and relationship with my kids, who are aged 20 and 14 respectively. I enjoyed my
3 months’ coaching sessions with Lee. It was because when I shared my ups and
downs in dealing with my kids, I got an active listener who understood my feelings so
well. What I valued more is that Lee gave me honest feedback so that I could see the
situations through the eyes of the kids. The coaching enabled me to discover my blind
spots in relating with my kids. Lee demonstrated her coaching expertise to help me
identify my improvement areas. Now, I am confident that I can build harmonious and
enjoyable relationship with my kids in the near future.
