In what way does coaching help?
A coach builds up mutual trust with his client, helps the client to have a clear sight of his own self and develop his potential. The coach does not tell the client what to do, but encourages him to find out solutions. He acts as a mirror, reflecting the client's inner self through listening and questioning. Over this he is able to respond and comment on the effectiveness of the client's behavior. Actions will then be taken to achieve better results.
Unlike counseling, coaching does not look back. It is forward looking. Through questioning and reflecting, the coach leads the client to find out his blind spot in both his behavior and thinking, so as to provide solutions to various problems in life.
